Gaslight Revisited

by Devin Abrams

2008

This piece has a lot of time in it. Originally, it looked much different and I liked it, but because of some discoloration that occurred during a glazing process. I was forced to paint over it.
I like it even better now. It reminds me a little of a bar and grille.

Unlike most of my work, this piece is composed around the profile of a face-facing the bottom left corner. It may be impossible to notice, and seem as undefined as my other work, but it isn’t. That makes it unique.

Mounted on my own handmade stretchers, this piece is acrylic on heavy gauge cotton canvas. It comes signed, and wired for easy hanging. No frame (blacked out edges) because it looks so nice the way it is.

Total dimensions:

25” x 24” x 1.5”
